Bob is a 2001 Graduate of Parkland Junior High School. He participated in the Parkland Junior High School's wrestling program during the 2000/2001 season and was a member of the Drama Club. He also participated in the McHenry Hornets (now McHenry Junior Warriors) Football program and the City of McHenry's Junior Warrior Basketball program during the 2000/2001 season. He graduated from McHenry West High School Campus in the Class of 2005 and received awards for achieving the Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance for all four (4) years. He was a member of the Student Council, Drama Club, Math Club, MADD, SADD, and played on the football team all four years including the 2003/2004 and 2004/2005 seasons as member of the McHenry Warriors Varsity Football Team as a defensive nose guard. He has been coaching the McHenry Junior Warriors Football Team as a Defensive Coach in the Middle Weight Division and Heavy Weight Division. He was an offensive coach for the 2006 season. Robert enjoys baseball and played for the Mariners in the 15/16 Year Old Travelers Division of the McHenry Baseball Program during the 2002 summer season. He continued his umpiring career as member of the McHenry Little League Umpiring Staff doing Pinto, Mustang and Pony games during the 2003 season. He also umpired for the Grant Township Area Athletic Association (GTAAA), the Elgin Park District, the Northern Officials Association and the Westshore Officials Association. 2004 was Bob's first year as a licensed umpire with the Illinois High School Association (I.H.S.A.) in both baseball and softball. He achieved a 98% on the Open Book test. He received assignments from the Westshore Officials Association, the Elgin Area Officials Association (EAOA) and Dave Lang (NOA Summer Baseball/Softball), besides doing in-house games for several area youth and park district associations, including the Lakeland Park Youth Baseball Association in McHenry, Illinois. The 2004/2005 season was his first year as an IHSA Basketball Official and to date he has officiated all levels of basketball from Junior High School to Junior Varsity Games. In 2006 he joined his father in officiating in Wisconsin. He currently is doing only Softball and Basketball in both Wisconsin and Illinois. He is a very devoted fan of the St. Louis Rams and watches youth, high school and professional football games. He is not only a dedicated fan, but a personal friend of the CHICAGO WOLVES hockey organization. One of his major highlights was the Wolves' winning of the 1998 and 2000 Turner Cup, whereas he was taken onto the ice and also into the locker room to celebrate with the Wolves players and management and also their recent winning of the Culder Cup. Bob was selected as the Official Equipment Manager for the Second Annual Wolf Pack vs Wolves Softball Game for the Illinois Special Olympics, which was held in August of 2002. Bob is a former member of the McHenry Lion's Club LEOS Group, which is the teenage division of the Lion's Club and was elected as the first President of the newly formed group in 2001. Since then he has served as the Treasurer (2002) and has also completed his second term as President for the group (2003). Bob also enjoys bowling, darts, fishing, hunting and especially enjoys roller skating at the Extreme Wheels Roller Rink in Crystal Lake and is attempting to form a Break Sk8 group. Robert enjoys hunting and on November 8, 2005 Robert "bagged" his second Canadian Goose which weighed in at 21.5 pounds, at the Richard Bong Recreation Center in Kansasville, Wisconsin. This was a Federally banded bird with quite a background history.
His other great interest is girls. Bob began the Boy Scouting program in 1992. He was a member of Cub Scout Pack 74 of Gurnee, Illinois. On November 11, 1997 he received his ARROW OF LIGHT AWARD, and had participated in as many scouting projects as his schedule permitted. He was nominated for the award after a recommendation to the Boys Scouts of America was received from the Village of Fox Lake Officials, after being notified by their Police and Fire Department Members about a situation whereas Bob handled an emergency situation by himself whereby a life was saved because of Bob's actions. Bob was only eight (8) years old at the time of this emergency. He graduated from Cub Scout Pack 74 and was, until August, 2000, a member of Boy Scout Troop 73 in Grayslake, Illinois. He had earned his LIFE rank and was three merit badges and the completion of his project from achieving his EAGLE rank, besides serving as the Troop Guide after being the Quarter Master and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, when he decided to leave the troop. He joined with Boy Scout Troop 455 in Johnsburg, Illinois where he found many new and devoted Scouting friends and leaders. After many years of hard work and dedication, on April 12, 2004, Robert was recognized by the Boy Scouts of America as an Eagle Scout, thereby fulfilling one of his lifelong goals. He is now an Assistant Scout Master with Troop 149 in McHenry, Illinois
